Russia seeks to legalize the use of stablecoins for international payments
A terrorist country is considering the use of stablecoins for international payments, according to propaganda media. According to a new report by the Russian newspaper Izvestia, the government is working on legalizing the use of stablecoins for international payments.
Alexei Guznov, deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Russia, said that proposals to legalize stable coins have been discussed since 2023. According to him, «in order to protect the country’s interests, regulation will probably need to be tightened.»
Guznov noted: «Understanding is still being formed, and I hope that in the near future this will be translated into the text of the bill.»
The occupiers believe that stable coins will not only add a significant amount of liquidity to the markets, but will also become an effective means of payment for other BRICS countries. BRICS is an economic alliance between countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
In May, it was reported that Russia and Iran are exploring the possibility of using central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and other digital financial assets. According to Rahimi Mohsen, the trade attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Russia, new solutions for settlements between the countries will help «mitigate the effects of sanctions and facilitate trade between Moscow and Tehran.» This is likely to be achieved through the development of a digital ruble and crypto-real.
