Sanctions continue: cryptocurrency wallet Skrill will stop serving Russians

12:20 pm, October 18, 2022

The British electronic payment system Skrill joins the sanctions imposed by the European Union against the terrorist state in connection with the act of full-scale aggression on the territory of Ukraine. Russian users of the platform have started receiving emails from the company warning them that the Skrill Cryptocurrency Service is no longer available to them. Starting from October 17, all cryptocurrency balances on the accounts of Russian Skrill customers will be converted into fiat.

The list of cryptocurrency companies and services that refuse to tolerate the aggressive actions of the terrorist state is growing every day. Yesterday, it became known that Cryptopay, a payment service for cryptocurrency transfers, supported the eighth package of sanctions against the occupier: starting October 21, users from Russia will not be able to withdraw digital assets from the platform. And last week, the LocalBitcoins project announced that citizens of the aggressor country would no longer be able to use the service. Blockchain.com, cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase, Crypto.com, and BitMEX, Revolut Bank, and Huobi also stand in solidarity with Ukraine and Europe. As for Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, it has not yet announced the termination of relations with Russian clients.

It is worth adding that the dictatorial regime in Russia has started using artificial intelligence to search for evaders of mobilization for the war with Ukraine. The technology will allow connecting an unlimited number of cameras across the country to a data center in Moscow. The world has once again seen that the right to privacy of citizens, as well as the right to life, has never been a priority for the ruling elite of the occupying country.
