Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to name the first cryptocurrency not bitcoin
Satoshi could have called bitcoin Netcoin, researcher Or Weinberger said on Twitter.
Did you know? A day before the https://t.co/oDfOFzFVNi domain was first registered, someone purchased https://t.co/KLzoDxJjrz using the same registrar. Looks like Satoshi was contemplating between the two names and later dropped t.co/KLzoDxJjrz#Bitcoin pic.twitter.com/yqwZYRefvX

Weinberger said that the domain netcoin.org was purchased from the same registrar as bitcoin.org, the difference in purchase was only one day. Weinberger suggests that Satoshi Nakamoto could not decide on a name for the first cryptocurrency, but eventually chose Bitcoin. «It's really amazing that you can still discover new information on a topic that’s so well researched,» the researcher reflects.
The No Worries editorial team will be waiting for a reaction to this information from the pseudo-father of Bitcoin, Craig Wright. The Australian scientist has repeatedly emphasized that it was he who created the flagship cryptocurrency. Last Thursday, Wright said in court that he had destroyed the disk with the keys to Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallet, the world’s first cryptocurrency wallet, by himself. The pseudo-creator of bitcoin «confessed» that he had trampled on the hard drive with the keys to Satoshi’s wallet. «If I hadn’t done it, people would have forced me to do things I didn’t want to do,» Wright allegedly explained his actions in a cryptic manner.
In early August, Craig Wright was accused of plagiarizing a scientific dissertation. He also won a lawsuit against a blogger who was conducting defamatory activities against an Australian scientist. And in early May, Craig Wright Coinbase-ta-kraken-u-torgivli-falshyvym-bitkoyinom/" data-wpel-link="internal">filed a lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase and Kraken for trading «fake bitcoin.»
In mid-August, filmmaker Christopher Cannucciari and White Paper Films announced that they had begun work on the documentary I Am Not Satoshi. The film will show the crypto world’s pursuit of the identity of Nakamoto, who suddenly disappeared after the launch of Bitcoin. The movie will highlight some theories about the person or group of people behind the pseudonym. The film will also touch on the controversial issue of why some representatives of the cryptocurrency industry believe that Satoshi should remain anonymous.
