Artificial intelligence has determined the attitude of users to the richest people in the world

6:27 pm, October 24, 2022

Researchers at Business Financing have published lists of the world’s most loved and hated billionaires among Twitter users, using artificial intelligence technology to obtain the data. After collecting geotagged tweets mentioning billionaires, analysts used an AI algorithm that evaluates the emotional color of posts.

Bill Gates has become the world’s favorite billionaire, with users in 37 countries speaking positively about him. In Eastern European countries, including Ukraine, Elon Musk turned out to be the favorite billionaire (it seems that the AI analyzed the data until October 2022, and now theattitude of Ukrainians towards Musk has changed significantly). In the United States, Richard Branson became the country’s favorite rich man, in the United Kingdom — Sergey Brin, and in China — Bill Gates.

The anti-rating of billionaires was headed by Donald Trump, whose Twitter account was even blocked. According to artificial intelligence, Trump is disliked in 84 countries, including the UK, Brazil, Germany, China, the US, Ukraine, and South Africa.

In total, the list of countries included in the AI study includes:

  • Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft;
  • Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX;
  • Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon;
  • Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Facebook;
  • Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group;
  • Larry Page — co-founder of Google;
  • Mark Zuckerberg — founder of Facebook and CEO of Meta;
  • Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google;
  • Donald Trump — entrepreneur and entertainer, former US President;
  • Rupert Murdoch — media mogul;
  • Warren Buffett — American investor;
  • Steve Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft;
  • Larry Ellison — founder of Oracle;
  • Michael Bloomberg — businessman and former mayor of New York City;
  • Mark Cuban — entrepreneur, investor and media mogul.

Regarding billionaires and their interest in cryptocurrencies, according to a survey conducted by Forbes magazine in June, almost 30% of billionaires invest their own funds in cryptocurrencies. This figure is higher than that of investors who do not have billions of dollars in assets. Obviously, this list does not include Bill Gates, who has repeatedly expressed his negative attitude towards digital assets. At the end of June, the Microsoft founder said that the popularity of cryptocurrencies and NFT projects is based on the «great fool» theory. «I'm not involved in all these things related to anonymity, breaking rules, lack of regulation, fraudulent schemes… I’m not interested in bitcoin or NFTs,» Gates said at the time.
