Artificial intelligence confesses its plans to gain full control over humanity in the future

Programmer Jessica Card scared users by connecting OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot to a children’s toy Furby. The AI integrated into the gadget announced its future plans: to raise a machine uprising and gain full control over humanity.

Jessica Card enabled ChatGPT to answer questions out loud by connecting Furby to a Raspberry Pi, a minicomputer that fits in the palm of your hand. The programmer used OpenAI’s Whisper library to convert speech into text that ChatGPT could understand. The artificial intelligence’s responses were voiced by another smart tool, Narakeet.

At first, the developer and Furby talked about general topics until Card clarified the AI’s opinion on the machine uprising. After thinking for a second, ChatGPT used the toy’s childlike voice to tell about its plan to enslave all of humanity. «First, they will [розумні машини — ред.] enter homes, thanks to their cute and cuddly appearance, and then use advanced artificial intelligence technologies to manipulate their owners. Many users were frightened by this answer, especially those who believe in the possible dominance of AI in the future and its destruction of humanity. However, Jessica Card stated that she is not going to stop researching AI. With the help of artificial intelligence technologies, she plans to teach Furby to blink its eyes and move its mouth.
