Amid the distribution of SAMO tokens, the asset’s price soared by more than 50%, and its capitalization increased to $ 58 million. However, at the time of writing, the token price has dropped by almost 7%.
The Samoyedcoin project announced the airdrop last year in mid-December. At that time, the team said that it would hold a SAMO coin giveaway for 20 thousand Saga owners.
on January 9, the developers finally started distributing the promised tokens. Users can claim 1,250 SAMO (about $ 20).
According to CoinGecko, the price of the asset soared by 54% from $ 0.014 to $ 0.16 amid the distribution. The token’s market capitalization increased from $ 51 million to $ 59 million. However, all indicators were adjusted within a day: at the time of writing, SAMO’s price has dropped to $ 0.14, and its capitalization has dropped to $ 57 million.
Along with the airdrop, the Samoyedcoin project team also introduced a new feature for Solana smartphones — Saga Tools. The tool allows other developers in the SOL network to organize their own token giveaways.
Earlier, the shortage of Saga was caused by the hype around another Solana-based memecoin, Bonk (BONK). Device owners could claim 30 million tokens. The airdrop led to a surge in demand for smartphones, which forced blockchain representatives to raise prices.
