Solo miner mines a block in the Bitcoin network and receives $ 350,000
A solo bitcoin miner BTC $108,182.52 Bitcoin 0.38% Market capitalization $2.15 trillion VOL. 24 hours $0.86 billion mined an entire block and received a reward of almost $ 350,000 with equipment with a total capacity of only 2.3 petahshes. This case occurred on the CKpool, and the probability of such an event for a miner with similar power is approximately 1 in 2,800 daily, or on average once every 8 years.
The miner received 3,173 BTC for the mined block #903 883, which is about $ 349,028. For comparison, to mine a block every month, you need to have 70 times more power — about 166,000 terahashes per second, which is available only to large industrial miners. Solo mining in today’s environment is a matter of probability, not just hardware.
Such «lucky ones» have appeared before: in February and June of this year, individual miners already received block rewards of more than $ 300,000. However, as the network becomes more complex, this is becoming increasingly rare. At the same time, major players are cutting production due to seasonal spikes in electricity prices, particularly in Texas, which may affect the overall distribution of income in the mining industry.
