US experts are concerned about cooperation between Russian and Iranian hackers in future mass cyberattacks

U.S. experts are concerned about the cooperation between Russian and Iranian hackers in cyberspace, according to a briefing by John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator.

According to Kirby, cybersecurity researchers have received reports confirming dangerous cooperation that could lead to massive attacks on US and other government agencies. John Kirby added that all the data is now being studied to understand which groups pose the greatest threat and how to counter them.

German Interior Minister Nancy Fischer also warned of the growing risk of cyberattacks by Russian hackers. According to the minister, the growing threat is related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. Since Germany began supporting Ukraine, cyberattacks on energy suppliers and German military organizations have increased several times.

US concerns about possible hacker attacks are not unfounded, as Russian hackers hacked the NATO website in late February. Representatives of the occupying country also disrupted communication between NATO and military aircraft that provided assistance to victims of the Turkish-Syrian earthquake. It was the hackers of the Killnet group who admitted their involvement in the attack. «We are striking at NATO,» was all the cybercriminals wrote on their Telegram channel in response to numerous reactions from social media users.
