Ethereum co-founder talks about future developments of the most popular altcoin

At the Circle Converge22 conference, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced Ethereum’s future plans after The Merge. According to Buterin, scalability has become the most important issue for Ethereum after the long-awaited transition to the green blockchain. «I think it’s important to keep working on scalability because it’s really the central issue that’s preventing a lot of the applications we dream of from becoming available to everyone,» Buterin said.

Through scalability, the ethereum parent hopes to make interacting with the Ethereum blockchain more attractive. One way is through «layer 2 solutions» that run on top of the Ethereum network. The emphasis will be on improving the network itself, better known as «sharding.» This is a multi-stage upgrade that will increase the scalability and power of Ethereum, as well as allow second-tier solutions to leverage the security of the Ethereum core while providing low transaction fees.

Vitalik Buterin predicts that the Ethereum ecosystem’s ability to process transactions will accelerate. «The ability of the Ethereum ecosystem to absorb and process transactions will increase by about 100−1000 times, and this will be a great achievement,» he assured.

Vitalik Buterin has written his own book about digital assets. According to the father of ethereum on Twitter, he has been working on Proof of Stake for 10 years. «At a time when many were focused on the rising value of cryptocurrencies, Buterin was working on the problems and opportunities of creating an online world,» the book’s description reads. Vitalik Buterin promised to donate all the proceeds from the sale to charity.
