Copoca Foundation co-founder regrets not buying bitcoin for $ 1
Jim Rogers, an American investor and co-founder of Soros Fund Management, said he regrets not buying bitcoin more than 10 years ago. Interestingly, in 2020, he claimed that investing in cryptocurrencies was a gamble and predicted that the price of BTC would drop to zero.
In an interview with the Economic Times, Rogers suggested that the global financial system would face serious problems in the next ten years. For this reason, he decided to buy gold and silver.
The investor also commented on bitcoin, which, according to many experts, can serve as a hedge against inflation. Rogers admitted that he does not own any BTC and regrets not buying enough cryptocurrency at the time when the asset was worth $ 1.
Rogers believes that cryptocurrencies can play a vital role in the financial system of the future and criticized the digital currencies of various governments. He is confident that CBDCs will only aim to control the transactions of ordinary people: «In this regard, I am optimistic about the future of cryptocurrencies, but not government crypto tokens… The government doesn’t like competition, so it is trying to remain a monopolist.»
