Dogecoin co-founder considers buying cryptocurrencies a mental illness

8:23 pm, April 23, 2023

Біллі Маркус" href="https://noworries.media/biography/billi-markus/" data-bio-id="3704">Billy Marcus, one of the founders of the Dogecoin (DOGE) meme cryptocurrency, has warned about the dangers of investing in the crypto sector.

In one of his tweets, Marcus compared investing in digital assets to a «mental illness.»

As for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), he believes they are «crypto derivatives for the even more mentally ill.»

«Because people are simpletons, like little children, they band together and act like idiots and do such stupid things…» — this is how Marcus commented on the surge in popularity of the cryptocurrency meme PEPE.

All these years, Marcus has maintained a pessimistic approach to cryptocurrencies. For example, in 2022, he said that he stopped investing in cryptocurrencies nine years ago, shortly after the emergence of DOGE, because it was a form of gambling.
