Spotify starts testing NFT
Musicians will soon be able to promote their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Spotify if a trial run is successful, Music Ally reports.
Rumors that Spotify is interested in web3 have been circulating since March, when the company posted two job ads for web3 projects. Recently, the parent company Meta announced that it would also start testing digital collectibles (NFTs) on Instagram and Facebook.
Now it has become known that the token sale on the Spotify music platform has started testing — in the near future, selected users from the United States will be able to see and buy tokens of their favorite artists. It is also noted that a third-party marketplace will act as a platform for the sale, Spotify will not yet conduct purchase and sale transactions directly within itself.
Judging by the information obtained by journalists, no commission will be charged during the testing phase (this is a fairly popular trend for beta testing).
