The US is ready to pay $ 10 million for information about hackers from North Korea
The U.S. State Department has announced a $ 10 million reward for information that will help prevent cyber espionage, cryptocurrency and critical information theft by hackers from North Korea.
As it has become known, the amount of reward from the US State Department for any information about hackers has doubled since March 2022, when $ 5 million was promised for similar information. «If you have information about any individuals associated with hacker cyber groups from North Korea (such as Andariel, APT38, Bluenoroff, Guardians of Peace, Kimsuky, Lazarus Group) who, in violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, are involved in an attack on U.S. critical infrastructure, you may be eligible for a reward,» the U.S. State Department’s official Twitter account said.
North Korea was the first among the countries with the highest number of cryptocurrency crimes. At the end of June, it became known about more than 7000 North Korean hackers who caused material damage to the entire crypto community.
Currently, there are more than 15 open criminal proceedings against the attackers, whose damage from hacker attacks is estimated at almost $ 2 billion. One of the most famous cryptocurrency fraudsters in North Korea is the Lazarus Group, which was involved in the attack on the Horizon Bridge of the Harmony blockchain, which resulted in the theft of $ 100 million.
