The US, Ukraine and the UK are first in the world in the use of cryptocurrency
According to a study by analytical company Merchant Machine, the United States ranks first in the world in terms of overall cryptocurrency use, scoring 7.75 points on a 10-point scale. Ukraine ranks second with a score of 5.96, followed by the UK with 5.79.
Experts emphasize that the assessment took into account the number of cryptocurrency holders in the country, the DeFi adoption index, the number of companies that allow cryptocurrency payments, the number of bitcoin ATMs, and the monthly volume of information searches about cryptocurrencies on the Internet. The study focused on finding the countries that invest most in cryptocurrencies. Thus, 50 countries were analyzed.
The United States and the United Kingdom are ranked first due to factors such as the strength of their economies and loyalty to the cryptocurrency ecosystem. However, the study showed that Ukraine ranks high due to the general trends of cryptocurrency adoption in emerging economies. In addition, Ukraine ranks first in terms of the percentage of the population that owns digital assets. There are 12.73% of them in the society. Experts say that countries such as Ukraine are facing economic problems — the devaluation of the national currency is forcing residents to invest in cryptocurrencies to save their finances.
The researchers noted that the regulatory aspect will partially affect the introduction of cryptocurrencies in different countries. It is noteworthy that most jurisdictions have accelerated their efforts to adopt relevant laws in response to the cryptocurrency market crash.
