It became known who could be hiding behind the image of Satoshi Nakamoto
The identity of the Bitcoin developer has been of interest to the crypto community for many years. No one has ever been able to find out the main secret of the cryptocurrency world: whether Сатоші Накамото" href="https://noworries.media/biography/satoshi-nakamoto/" data-bio-id="4232">Satoshi Nakamoto is a single person or a group of developers, and whether he is even alive.
There are quite a few versions about Nakamoto’s real identity, but none of them is 100% confirmed. One of the newer ones names Paul Le Roux, a programmer and drug lord, as the developer of the VTS.
As a well-known American criminal, co-founder of the hedge fund MSMB Capital Management, convicted of financial fraud and winner of the «Villain of the Year» award Martin Shkreli, it was Paul Le Roux who signed the world’s first bitcoin transaction.
Shkreli posted his guesses in the Substack mailing list with the headline: «Paul Le Roux to Satoshi». In the message, he shared a screenshot with the bitcoin address «1Q2TWHE3GMdB6BZKafqwxXtWAWgFt5Jvm3» — the address Satoshi Nakamoto sent 10 BTC to on January 12, 2009, to the deceased programmer Hal Finney. The transaction contained the following signature: «This transfer was made by Paul Le Roux for Hal Finney on January 12, 2009». Accordingly, Le Roux can be considered Satoshi Nakamoto.
Shkreli’s followers had many questions and doubts about the authenticity of the words of the «Villain of the Year», as he flatly refused to tell how he learned about Paul Le Roux, how he managed to get a signature for the first bitcoin transaction, and whether there was any other evidence of Le Roux’s involvement in the creation of bitcoin.
Paul Le Roux is a former drug cartel leader, DEA informant, and programmer. According to official reports, he has been behind bars since his arrest in 2012. However, anonymous sources claim that Le Roux has been cooperating with the US government, which is why he has been hidden and protected all these years. It is worth noting that according to one so-called conspiracy theory, bitcoin is a project of the US CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), in which case Paul Le Roux could be a perfect fit for the role of Satoshi Nakamoto.
It is worth reminding that December 12 of this year marked the 12th anniversary of Satoshi Nakamoto’s disappearance from the public space. It was on December 12, 2010, that the BTC developer wrote his last post on the bitcointalk.org forum. Since then, no one has seen or heard from Nakamoto. In his last message to the cryptocurrency community, Satoshi Nakamoto said that he was planning to do other things and wanted to move on to a new project, but the programmer did not specify which project he was talking about. Many users are still trying to figure out what caused Nakamoto’s disappearance, but no one knows the truth.
Before his disappearance, Nakamoto claimed to be Japanese, born on April 5, 1975. However, he was very fluent in English, so many believed him to be a resident of an English-speaking country.
