It became known when the cryptocurrency ruble will be launched in Russia

Representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the terrorist country have stated that the digital ruble will be put into circulation by the end of 2023. According to the head of the so-called ministry, Anton Siluanov, a limited number of people are currently testing the use of the cryptocurrency ruble, and after the relevant legislation is passed, the digital asset will be put into circulation.

Russia hopes that by 2030, the digital ruble will be actively used alongside fiat currencies. According to the «experts,» the new means of payment will increase the availability and reduce the cost of financial services for Russians.

The bill on the digital ruble has so far passed only the first reading. The head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov, promised that the cryptocurrency package would be adopted in April 2023 and come into force in May, but this did not happen.

Earlier, Russia planned to launch the digital ruble on April 1, April Fool’s Day, but the lack of a proper regulatory framework prevented it. Experts pointed out a number of problems with the Russian CBDC. For example, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation plans to charge interest from legal entities for future operations with cryptocurrencies. However, the specific amount of the fee has not been determined. The authorities have only announced that it will not be higher than in the rapid payment system. In the absence of demand for the digital ruble, financiers consider this decision of the regulator to be nonsense.

As a reminder, the prototype platform for the sale of the digital ruble was launched in January 2022, with five banks participating. Together with the regulator, they tested the issuance of the asset, the opening of digital wallets, and transactions between users.
