Telegram will give users digital tokens

Telegram, in partnership with TON Diamonds, is launching TON Gifts, a project that allows sending NFT gifts via the Telegram messenger. The service is based on the TON blockchain and operates with a chatbot.

Users will be able to create unique gifts in the form of a Christmas tree, snowman, black rabbit (the symbol of 2023), or a bouquet of flowers. In addition, there is an option to send any amount of Toncoin or NFT on the TON Diamonds platform in an animated gift box.

Along with the launch of the service, the developers of TON Gifts announced a Toncoin cryptocurrency raffle. The winner will be chosen at random.

As a reminder, on December 21, the most expensive anonymous number in history was sold on Telegram — the buyer paid 300,000 TON (about $ 730,000). The owner of the 8 888 888 number is a collector who already has about 100 NFT numbers and nicknames on his account. The very first username was sold at auction for $ 1.4 million.

The possibility of anonymous registration on Telegram has already been called a «new era of privacy.» «When using the messenger, your phone number will never be visible to strangers: you decide who to show it to and can prohibit your phone number from being found,» explained Telegram representatives.
