Telegram developer’s blockchain reaches record 1 billion transactions
The Open Network (TON) blockchain associated with the Telegram messenger is showing significant progress despite recent difficulties. According to TON Scan, the network has already processed more than 1 billion transactions. The result was achieved even after two major network outages caused by the airdrop of meme coins.
TON’s growth accelerated especially in the last three months, during which half of all transactions were made. This success is largely due to the integration with Telegram, which has almost 1 billion users worldwide. The integration has allowed the TON platform to attract a large number of users, which has led to the active growth of the blockchain network.
In addition, in August, a new W5 smartwallet standard was launched, which allowed for gas-free transactions using USDT to pay fees. This made the platform even more accessible and contributed to further explosive growth.
However, despite the network’s successes, the native Toncoin (TON) token has faced notable fluctuations in value. After strong selling pressure, the value of Toncoin began to decline sharply, especially after the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, which caused the price to drop by 25%. Despite the negative forecast of some analysts predicting a further 30% drop, Toncoin was up 2.57% at the time of publication and was trading at $ 5.28.
