Tether cryptocurrency developers to create their own artificial intelligence

The issuer of the largest stablecoin on the market, Tether (USDT), has announced the strategic expansion of its activities in the field of artificial intelligence. According to the company’s representatives, Tether will develop AI-based tools.

«Artificial intelligence is poised to revolutionize virtually every aspect of our lives, both in the real and digital world. Today’s announcement of a new division within Tether redefines the boundaries of AI and democratizes open AI technologies with privacy, setting industry standards for innovation, utility, and transparency ,» said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.

Tether’s decision to enter the AI industry was prompted by concerns about monopolization. In addition, the company is also concerned about transparency and privacy in the development of AI models. The expansion of Tether’s activities in the field of artificial intelligence will focus on plans to:

• become a pioneer in the development of open-source multimodal AI models and set new industry standards in this area;
• lead cooperation on the integration of AI solutions into products focused on the crypto market.

Last December, Tether announced the involvement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Secret Service in its platform. This happened as part of the company’s efforts to improve security and prevent the use of its cryptocurrency by «undesirable persons.» Tether currently cooperates with 19 jurisdictions around the world.
