Tom Lee: Bitcoin may reach $ 250,000 in 2026

11:16 am, January 6, 2026

Analyst Tom Lee said in a commentary for CNBC that Bitcoin could break the traditional four-year cyclical pattern and reach $ 200,000-$ 250,000 in 2026. According to him, the price of BTC usually tends to decline after the peak period, but current market conditions may change this scenario.

Lee noted several factors that can support growth. Among them are the restart of leverage after the market crash in the fall of 2025, which cleared the sector and changed liquidity, as well as the ongoing institutional adaptation of Bitcoin as a separate asset class. An additional factor, he said, was the support from the US government, which could strengthen the confidence of large investors.

At the time of publication, Bitcoin was trading around $ 93,706. Despite the volatility, Lee’s forecasts reflect an optimistic scenario in which BTC can go beyond the usual cycle and demonstrate a new level of dynamics in 2026.

At the same time, despite the current positive momentum, the market remains sensitive to news and participant sentiment. Further price movements will depend on whether buying pressure persists and whether technical signals for Bitcoin and other key cryptocurrencies are confirmed in the upcoming sessions.
