Twitter account of Ethereum cryptocurrency developer hacked
Віталій бутерін" href="https://noworries.media/biography/vitalij-buterin/" data-bio-id="3642">Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, reportedly fell victim to hackers who gained unauthorized access to his X (formerly Twitter) account. The hackers posted phishing links in an attempt to deceive Buterin’s followers by offering a scam with suspicious-looking «commemorative NFTs.»
According to social media reports, several NFTs were stolen as a result. Buterin himself has not yet reacted to the incident.
The hacking incident provoked a strong reaction from the Internet community: speculation, memes, and real security concerns appeared. Some humorously speculated about the potential benefits that the hacker could have gained from a false Twitter post about a massive Ethereum sale. Many were surprised that someone as tech-savvy as Buterin could have fallen victim to such an attack, and therefore, according to rumors, it could have been a SIM spoofing attack.
Despite the cyber incident, the price of Ethereum (ETH) remained relatively stable.
