Twitter to sue Dogecoin king Elon Musk
After the serial entrepreneur announced that he was terminating his deal to buy Twitter for $ 44 billion, the company promised to take action.
«Twitter's board of directors is committed to closing the deal at the price and terms agreed with Musk and plans to sue to enforce the agreement. We are confident that we will win the case in the Delaware court,» said Bret Taylor, Chairman of the Board of Twitter.
Earlier, Musk accused the social network of violating their agreement and providing false information. In a statement, Musk said that his side had made requests for data and information necessary to «conduct an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on the Twitter platform.» However, according to the star entrepreneur, «Twitter has been unable or refused to provide this information.»
«If the case goes to trial, Musk will have the burden of proving that the spam accounts were not only widespread, but that they were so widespread that they would affect Twitter’s future revenue,» said Anne Lipton, a lawyer specializing in corporate litigation.
