Cardano founder unveils world’s first hotel dedicated to cryptocurrency

At the Consensus 2022 conference, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano (ADA) cryptocurrency, told the crypto community about the Spanish Cardano Boutique Hotel Ginebra, a hotel dedicated to the ADA cryptocurrency.

As Hoskinson explained, the owner of the hotel, which was previously called Boutique Hotel Ginebra, decided to rename it and develop a space for Cardano fans: «The owner of the hotel believes so much in our cryptocurrency, in the equality and integrity of our business that he decided to change the main idea of his hotel.»

As it became known from the hotel’s Instagram page, Cardano Boutique Hotel Ginebra owns a part of Cardano shares and produces the Cardano Hotel Podcast. Both fiat money and the ADA digital currency can be used to pay for the reservation.

Cardano Boutique Hotel Ginebra is the first hotel dedicated to cryptocurrency, but it is not the only one where you can pay with virtual funds. In early June, The Manor Hotel by JA in the UAE allowed its guests to pay for accommodation using cryptocurrencies: Binance (BNB), Bitcoin (BTC), or Ethereum (ETH). The owners of the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas hotel chain went even further, offering guests to book rooms using non-fungible Room Night Tokens (RNT). Interestingly, visitors who pay for rooms in fiat currency will face unpleasant changes: the usual discounts for regular visitors will cease to apply — only Room Night Tokens holders will receive a price reduction.
