There are rumors that Grand Theft Auto 6 may integrate cryptocurrency into the gameplay. Recent insider leaks claim that GTA 6 will have an in-game cryptocurrency that players can earn and exchange.

The Grand Theft Auto series has always been far ahead of its time. GTA San Andreas, released in 2004, is still considered groundbreaking even two decades later. The latest game in the franchise, Grand Theft Auto V, was released in 2013 and has sold over 160 million copies.

One of the versions about cryptocurrencies is that in GTA 6, the name of the in-game currency will be called «Crypto». It might not be a real cryptocurrency — given the franchise’s habit of parodying modern life and the huge role cryptocurrencies are playing now, it would make sense.
