Korean cryptocurrency exchange issues NFT tokens as passes for its employees
South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Korbit has announced the issuance of employee identification cards in the format of non-fungible tokens. According to the exchange’s representatives, the new NFTs are «inspired» by the CryptoPunks collection of non-fungible tokens. Korbit’s collection is presented on the OpenSea trading platform and currently includes 80 different NFTs designed individually for specific employees.
Korbit’s management hopes that providing staff with individual NFT cards will help the exchange optimize employee identification, differentiate itself from other cryptocurrency platforms, and show an example of how else non-fungible tokens can be used in real life.
Earlier, Korbit and other major cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea signed an agreement to create a single body that will monitor the market, support transactions, and control cryptocurrencies legally.
However, the South Korean exchange is not the only one implementing Web3 technologies to optimize processes. For instance, blockchain company Minexx will help the government of Rwanda (Africa) to control mining. Blockchain technologies will also be used to track the supply chain, taxation, export processes, and even the salaries of miners.
The education sector is not far behind: a university in the United States has announced the creation of its own virtual reality for training (classes will be held in the metaverse) and the launch of non-fungible tokens (to authenticate event tickets and certificates).
