China will use blockchain technologies to search for missing persons

6:34 pm, August 23, 2022

Chinese tech giant Tencent has been granted a patent to develop a blockchain-based technology that will help search for missing persons, as the company hopes to increase the efficiency of notifications about people’s whereabouts.

According to Tencent representatives, the developers will create a database that will be constantly updated, and each new request to find a missing person will be carefully checked. After passing the verification, the message about the missing person will be broadcast on all available channels for searching for people.

Importantly, thanks to the use of blockchain technologies, all search messages will be permanently stored in the chains, so it will be impossible to hide or delete information about a person. Users have already appreciated Tencent’s idea and hope that it will be more successful than the company’s NFT marketplace, which has recently ceased operations.
