Poland starts hiring employees in virtual reality
PKO Bank Polski, Poland’s largest bank, has organized a metaverse event for users seeking to apply for a job at the institution. This is the first metaverse recruitment event in Poland and one of the first in the world.
According to the bank’s representatives, PKO wants to expand its presence in decentralized metaverse such as Decentraland and The Sandbox. The bank aims to build VR models of its branches to expand the possibility of operations in the virtual world.
The most active participants of the event were able to sign up for a personal interview with PKO recruiters. On the eve of the event, the bank’s representative Katarzyna Motelska explained that the company is constantly looking for new forms of contact with candidates, and metaverse is no exception.
PKO Bank Polski is the leader in mobile banking in Poland, serving almost 12 million customers, including through the IKO mobile application, which has been activated 7.4 million times.
Many banks are actively exploring the possibilities of metaverse. At the end of 2022, Fidelity Investments and HSBC filed applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to register trademarks related to NFT, metaverse, and Web3.
Japan’s largest bank, MUFG, which manages $ 3.3 trillion in assets, opened a metaverse division last year to attract a younger audience and introduce them to the bank’s work.
