The court partially sided with Elon Musk in the case of Twitter purchase
Judge Kathleen McCormick in the case of Twitter and Elon Musk decided to order several Twitter employees and ex-product director Kayvon Bakepour to provide information on the number of spam accounts on the social network, which is exactly what Elon Musk insisted on.
As it became known, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX published a survey in which he asked other Twitter users whether they believe that «less than 5% of daily Twitter users are fake» — most respondents answered «no». Earlier, Musk accused the social network of violating their agreement and providing false information. In a statement, Musk said that his side had made requests for data and information necessary to «conduct an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on the Twitter platform.» However, according to the star entrepreneur, «Twitter has been unable or refused to provide this information.»
As a reminder, in late July, Elon Musk asked the court not to proceed with the Twitter lawsuit on an expedited basis and to postpone the case until February 2023. According to the entrepreneur’s lawyers, the social network’s representatives want to achieve a «light speed» sale to hide the truth about the number of fake accounts.
