Cryptocurrencies can be used for donations in the US
The Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Washington, DC, will start accepting donations in cryptocurrency. For this purpose, the clergy enlisted the support of the Engiven crypto platform.
The archdiocese is going to use the money raised to support 139 parishes in the District of Columbia, as well as local programs to help those in need.
According to Joseph Gillmer, executive director of development for the archdiocese, the church is committed to using modern technology to engage parishioners and make it easier for the faithful to fulfill the church’s missions through innovation.
Engiven users will be able to send donations anonymously in many digital currencies, including BTC and ETH. The church emphasizes: «Engiven helps us fulfill our mission by providing an advanced, yet easy-to-use cryptocurrency giving platform. This allows parishioners to support more than 300 parishes in the US capital.»
Engiven has helped more than 400 religious organizations organize cryptocurrency donations. The company’s founder, James Lawrence, believes that no religious organization, church, or nonprofit can afford to neglect the online audience, donors, and other people looking for ways to invest their money for the good of the church.
