The Quai Network consultant, a board member of the Mccombs blockchain initiative, and a visiting lecturer at the University of Texas immediately agreed. «The senior community has little to no exposure to the crypto ecosystem unless their grandchildren tell them about it,» he said.

Debra Dickerson, Director of Community Leisure at The Preston at Park Cities, said that one of the main goals of such lectures is to help the residents of the retirement center improve their knowledge of general digital security: «We wanted to bring in an expert who could provide a basic understanding of NFTs and cryptocurrencies, as well as inform seniors about the dangers that technology can bring. We wanted the speaker to share his knowledge on how to recognize online scams that seniors often fall for and how to improve their overall digital security.»

Robertson emphasized that he wanted to give the lecture to seniors because he knew that seniors are often «extremely vulnerable to fraud.»
