Energy saving mode is now available in Telegram

Telegram messenger specialists have released an update that introduces an energy saving mode. This became known from a post on the platform’s official website.

As explained by Telegram, the messenger’s animations and effects have been optimized: their appearance remains the same, but they can be turned off at any time.

The power saving mode can be set to turn on automatically when the battery reaches a certain percentage. You can also set up separate control options for different effects.

IOS users can use the power saving settings to limit background updates. «Although we don’t recommend doing this, as the „Updates…“ inscription will appear much more often,» the messenger representatives emphasized.

You can turn on the power saving mode or change individual settings for autoplay, animations, and effects in Settings > Power saving.

From now on, messages in groups of up to 100 participants will be marked with the exact time when each person read them. Telegram hopes to facilitate collaboration in small teams in this way.

Users can download the updated version of the messenger on Google Play, the App Store, or directly from the Telegram website.

At the end of February, Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated «broadcast channels» for users, a new Instagram option that allows them to share thematic messages in the app. The upcoming update has already been called an analog of Telegram channels. In addition to text updates, authors will also be able to share videos, voice messages, and photos.
