A copy of Times Square will be developed in virtual reality

The Sandbox platform has announced cooperation with the American edition of TIME — the partners plan to build a copy of Times Square in the metaverse.

According to the head of TIME, Case A. Grossman, the main goal of the partnership is to create a virtual environment that will become the «heart of the metaverse» and fully recreate the «legendary» New York City square. «Since the launch of our Web3 community TIMEPieces last year, we have made great progress in developing our brand awareness in the digital world and we have no plans to stop there,» Grossman emphasized.

The virtual Times Square will serve as an exclusive platform for TIMEPieces participants, allowing them to attend various TIME events and meet with celebrities. The partners hope that the Times Square in the metaverse will become a bridge between the virtual community of the publication and the daily events of TIME in real life.

The Sandbox metaverse is popular among large companies and developers. Recently, it became known that the developers of the virtual hotel chain Secret Island Club are planning to purchase land from The Sandbox. Secret Island Club hotels will have themed floors for «knowledge sharing», conference rooms and lobbies for relaxation. Everyone will have the opportunity to rent a room and find business partners for new NFT projects in the hotel.
