Japan considers partial legalization of cryptocurrencies
Ripple’s Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Operations Amy Yoshikawa spoke about his meeting with the mayor of Fukuoka, Japan, Soichiro Takashima. The latter personally visited the headquarters of the company that created this blockchain product.
The Ripple CEO said that the mayor arrived at the organization’s location together with his colleagues. During the conversation, experts discussed the possibility of integrating cryptocurrencies into the domestic economy. According to Yoshikawa, Fukuoka is a leading city in the development of web3 technology in Japan.
The entrepreneur noted that the leadership of this large metropolis is seriously considering making virtual currencies legal tender in the city.
