Ukrainian blockchain company hires new employees despite the crisis

10:33 am, June 16, 2022

The CEO of Ukrainian decentralized staking provider Everstake, Sergiy Vasylchuk, tweeted that the company continues to hire crypto specialists despite the unfavorable market situation and the war in Ukraine.

Since February 24, Everstake has hired 30 new employees and is ready to employ ten more in marketing and development. The precautions taken in case of a market downturn allowed the company to keep its employees - "although I have to admit that we underestimated Terra's risks," Vasylchuk added - and turn the crisis into an opportunity.

The company also supports Ukraine financially during the war: Everstake founders donated $ 10 million and recorded a rap with the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine (to draw people’s attention to fundraising).

According to the CEO, the company prepared in advance and created its own fund to «pull» Everstake out of the crisis and be able to pay salaries if necessary. However, not all companies have a «safety cushion,» so earlier this week, the largest American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase laid off 1,100 employees. The layoffs cost the company $ 40 million, almost all of which will be in the form of severance packages.
