Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange acquires Georgian tech giant

1:46 pm, November 10, 2022

Europe’s largest cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBIT has acquired the Georgian financial company Unicard/Pay Unicard, the leader of the e-wallet market in its country. Currently, more than 2 million customers use Pay Unicard services in Georgia.

«WhiteBIT continues to develop and scale. Our team will be able to properly utilize the capabilities of Pay Unicard and integrate cryptocurrency into the loyalty program and e-wallet sector. This will be a technological breakthrough that will provide more opportunities and freedoms for our customers,» said WhiteBIT CEO Vladimir Nosov.

At the end of August, WhiteBIT, together with the Techno Yizhak electronics chain, announced the launch of a joint WhiteEX card that can be used to buy cryptocurrency and pay for goods. In October, the Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange became a partner of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. According to the agreement, WhiteBIT will participate in the creation of a new blockchain training course.

«…Blockchain will soon change our lives completely. In order not to miss all the benefits, Ukrainian youth must obtain high-quality knowledge in a timely manner. For this purpose, WhiteBIT and Mohylianka will create a first-class educational ecosystem,» emphasized WhiteBIT CEO Volodymyr Nosov.

We would like to add that Nosov recently purchased a 1974 Rolls-Royce used by Freddie Mercury. The WhiteBIT CEO paid UAH 11 million for the rarity, all of which will be used to build a rehabilitation center for Ukrainian soldiers.
