Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange launches its own blockchain

Representatives of the Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBIT have announced the launch of their own blockchain. According to the platform’s specialists, the WB Network Testnet is the first step towards a full transition to the WB Network blockchain.

A testnet is a blockchain instance that works similarly to the mainnet, which can be used for testing and experimentation without risking funds or the mainnet. The coins of the test network differ from the coins of the main network in that they have no value and can only be used for testing purposes.

In a few days, the test blockchain network:
More than 300,000 blocks have been mined;
More than 6,000,000 transactions have been made;
Over 150,000 test coins were distributed.

«These are new opportunities for you, in a secure and transparent blockchain system where transactions will cost a penny. Moreover, our own blockchain allows us to provide new services and expand the exchange’s functionality,» WhiteBIT representatives emphasized, addressing each user.

The exchange’s specialists also explained how to connect the test network to MetaMask. To begin with, you need to create your own MetaMask wallet in the application or through the corresponding browser extension. After that, to join the test network, you need to:

• Go to WB Epplorer and click «Add WB Network» in the lower right part of the page.
• The MetaMask wallet will display a request to connect to the WB Network Testnet. You need to confirm it by clicking «Approve».
