Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange to launch its own cryptocurrency token

Cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBIT will launch its own WTB token, which will be presented on the platform’s launchpad on August 14. The token will be burned regularly, and WTB holders will have certain advantages.

The next step in the realization of our development plans is to issue our own token — WhiteBIT Token (WBT),» — said the exchange representatives

They also explained what WhiteBIT Token is:

«WBT is an internal exchange token developed as a full-fledged infrastructure project that will connect the exchange’s ecosystem with other WhiteBIT projects created on its basis. At the same time, the token itself will become a project platform for tens of thousands of blockchain startups wishing to expand their activities using a reliable digital asset. The WhiteBIT token was created with the users of our platform in mind.»

The exchange explains that a total of 400,000,000 WBT have been issued. Some tokens worth 78 million WBT were sold in a private auction. These tokens will be locked for 3 months, after which 20% of them will be unlocked every 5 months.

Half of the issued tokens (200 million) are «treasury» tokens. They will be unlocked over 3 years, starting with the final round of private auction tokens. A total of 4 unlocking rounds are planned. The team and company tokens will be unlocked in the final round.
