Ukrainian developers confirm leak of 200 GB build of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
The Ukrainian studio GSC Game World has confirmed that a large-scale information leak related to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has occurred. Representatives of the company said that Russian hackers managed to find a vulnerability and exploited it for a long time.

«Our team has discovered a vulnerability that was exploited by a group of Russian hackers who have been attacking our company for more than a year and a half. Unfortunately, they were able to gain access to some materials and information that were intended to test various aspects of the game. We ask stalkers and those wishing to enter the Zone in the future to refrain from viewing and distributing these materials. Despite being used for testing purposes only and not the final version, they can ruin your experience of exploring the Zone. Rest assured that our team remains committed to creating a game that delivers exceptional experiences and emotions. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a game we dedicate our hearts and souls to. So, despite the situation, we will continue to work on the game, which we hope will meet your expectations,» the developers wrote in a message to gamers.
Just two days ago, the Russian community «The Herald of the Same Stalker» in the banned in Ukraine social network VK announced the publication of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl build on torrents. Earlier, hackers of the terrorist state published screenshots from the game, artwork, maps, plot descriptions, and much more.
Currently, all the data in the archive with the build is encrypted and requires a decryptor. The attackers promised to provide access to them in the near future.
GSC Game World has confirmed that despite the Russians' attempts to compromise the work of Ukrainian developers, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released this year for PC and Xbox.
