University in the US to create its own virtual reality for education
The University of Arizona (ASU) will issue non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and conduct virtual classes in the meta-universe.
The university intends to issue NFTs to authenticate tickets and certificates for events. Students will also receive digital collectibles based on videos of the university’s sports achievements.
In addition, ASU plans to organize classes, meetings, and other projects in a virtual environment. The development of its own metaverse was probably accelerated by the fact that in 2021, due to quarantine, almost 60 thousand students took their exams remotely.
It should be noted that ASU is not the first university in the United States to become interested in web3 technologies. Earlier it became known that Bentley, one of the oldest private universities in the United States, started accepting cryptocurrency payments.
