Africa launches cryptocurrency token to finance water access
Africa has traditionally experienced problems with water supply. Therefore, it is not surprising that the first token to help solve water access problems appeared on this continent.
H20 Securities has received $ 150 million from the GEM Digital investment fund to develop and launch the H20N ecosystem, which is based on the token of the same name. The project aims to simplify financial transactions between participants developing infrastructure projects with access to water resources.
The IDO (initial public offering) of the tokens is currently underway, with just over 4 hours left until the close. At the moment, the cost of a token is over $ 1. In total, 48,000 tokens are planned to be sold within the IDO.
It is worth noting that tokenization of natural resources is not new for Africa — recently, the first official crypto hub in Africa, Project Sango, announced plans to tokenize access to natural resources. The country has many mineral deposits, such as diamonds, copper, and rhodium. The country’s natural resources also include gold, limestone, cobalt, and manganese.
