Austria develops cryptocurrency stamp for letters
The Austrian Post now offers customers the purchase of digital stamps. After purchasing a physical stamp from the Crüpto Stamp Art (CSA) collection, the buyer receives its digital counterpart stored on the Ethereum blockchain.
The collection of digital stamps Crуpto Stamp Art, which is a modern interpretation of the Merkur newspaper stamps of 1851, was developed by Austrian artist PR1MAL CYPHER. The postal representatives also emphasized that at the end of July, together with the NFT artist, they will issue 2500 digital collection blocks, each of which will contain 4 NFT stamps.
Interestingly, the Austrian post office is not the only one that decided to «integrate» into the virtual environment. In late June, the French post office Groupe La Poste Binance/">launched its first collection of non-fungible tokens on the Binance crypto exchange. «Visages de France par les facteurs» are 10 photos taken by French postmen.
«Emirates Post Group, the post office of the United Arab Emirates, is also moving with the times. The UAE has developed the world’s most expensive collection of postage stamps in honor of the country’s 50th anniversary — each physical stamp in the collection has its own NFT counterpart.
