The value of the Ethereum cryptocurrency fell by 70% in three months

For the first time in history, the value of the Ethereum cryptocurrency has fallen by 70% in three months. The drop, which occurred between April and June 2022, is the largest in the history of the coin.

On April 1, the value of ETH was 3.5 thousand US dollars. According to coinmarketcap.com, in three months, it dropped to $ 1,000 or 70%.

Before that, the strongest declines were observed in the first and third quarters of 2018. In the first quarter, the price dropped by 50% from $ 800 to $ 400, and in the third quarter — by 48% from $ 450 to $ 220.

The last quarterly growth of Ethereum was at the end of 2021. Back then, the cryptocurrency grew by 29% from $ 2,800 to $ 3,700 in three months.

The second quarter of this year was no less sad for the world’s main cryptocurrency, bitcoin. It was the worst quarter for it in the last 11 years.
