Famous Youtube bloggers are sued in a case about cryptocurrencies
A well-known blogger in the crypto world, BitBoy Crypto (Ben Armstrong), has filed a lawsuit against his colleague Atozy (Erling Mengshoel), all because of a video Mengshoel posted in 2021.
According to Ben Armstrong, on November 9, 2021, Atozy posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he called BitBoy Crypto «a dark bad guy who is actually using his audience to make easy money rather than giving sincere advice.» Ben Armstrong emphasized that such comments from his colleague had a negative impact on his performance, emotional and moral state.
However, BitBoy Crypto did not say how he felt when he urged his viewers to invest in the DOCK cryptocurrency in his videos, which turned out to be another fraudulent scheme. Thus, an unnamed user who decided to buy DOCK purchased advertising from BitBoy for $ 30,000. In his video, the blogger said that it was an advertising integration only at the end, so most viewers did not notice the fact that it was an advertisement, and therefore took Armstrong’s words as a full and unbiased analysis. After the video was published, investors began to actively invest in the new cryptocurrency, which led to an increase in the value of DOCK.
Regarding the situation with Atozy, BitBoy Crypto stated that it expects to receive $ 75,000 in non-pecuniary damages. So far, blogger Erling Mengshoel has not officially commented on Ben Armstrong’s accusations.
