A well-known cryptocurrency blogger accused the US regulator of bribery for the collapse of the Ethereum cryptocurrency
Amid the ongoing litigation in which the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is suing Ripple, accusing its representatives of illegally selling unregistered securities, charges have been filed against the regulator. The notorious owner of the Bitboy Crypto YouTube channel Ben Armstrong criticized former SEC representative William Hinman. On Twitter, the blogger accused Hinman of taking bribes to declare Ethereum a security.
Gotta say when #ETHGate dropped I was about at the same place @IOHK_Charles is. He makes many valid points in thread.
However, William Hinman certainly accepted bribes. It’s CLEAR.
My 3 biggest holdings are $XRP, $ADA, & $ETH and I refuse to take sides. They all win.

According to Bitboy Crypto, William Hinman «definitely took bribes». In his accusations, Armstrong referred to the comments of Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson, who had previously addressed this issue on his page. The blogger also advised Ripple to focus on its arguments for better regulatory clarity.
It was the so-called Hinman documents that Judge Analisa Torres ordered the SEC to make public. William Hinman is the former director of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, and the Hinman documents refer to one of his speeches during which the regulator stated that Ethereum is not a security. According to Ripple Labs, Hinman’s documents are an important argument in the court case — if ETH is not a security, then XPR cannot be considered one either.
As for blogger Ben Armstrong, members of the crypto community have many questions for him. It was Bitboy Crypto who supported the fraudster Do Kwonat the end of September, saying that the Terra project founder «is not such a bad guy.» Last July, Armstrong urged his viewers to invest in the DOCK cryptocurrency, which turned out to be a fraudulent scheme. Thus, an unnamed user who decided to buy DOCK purchased an ad from BitBoy for $ 30,000. In his video, the blogger said that it was an advertising integration only at the end, so most viewers did not know about it. After the video was published, investors began to actively invest their own funds in the new cryptocurrency, which increased the value of DOCK. In August, Armstrong admitted his mistake.
