From now on, the Ukrainian developer’s blockchain can be accessed via ChatGPT

4:34 pm, April 26, 2023

Specialists of the Solana cryptocurrency, developed by Ukrainian Anatoly Yakovenko, have announced that the Solana blockchain can be accessed via ChatGPT. Solana Labs developers have launched an open source plugin for the chatbot.

From now on, users will be able to check their crypto wallet balance, conduct transactions, and send NFTs using ChatGPT. The source code of the plugin is already available for download on GitHub.

According to users, the launch of the chatbot plugin is the first step of the Solana team to combine blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence. To work in this direction, Solana Foundation will allocate $ 1 million in grants for the development of startups promoting AI and blockchain technologies. «Solana's high performance and scalability provide a unique opportunity to implement completely new ideas using artificial intelligence. The grant program is designed to encourage our community to explore new uses of this technology ,» Solana Foundation representatives emphasized.

Last week, the Solana Foundation published an emissions dashboard to track the carbon footprint created by thousands of servers that power the Solana blockchain. In the 12 months to April 1, 2023, Solana servers generated 10,651 metric tons of carbon dioxide, according to the dashboard, which was built using the Carbonara carbon footprint calculator. This is roughly equivalent to just eight airplane flights from London to New York.
