Representatives of the Visa payment system have filed 2 applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to register their own trademarks related to cryptocurrencies and Web3. Visa’s applications were announced by Trademark Commissioner Mike Kondoudis on Twitter.
VISA has filed 2 trademark applications claiming plans for:

According to Kondoudis, the new trademarks relate to:
- crypto wallet development;
- cryptocurrency issuance;
- management of cryptocurrency transactions;
- nFT development;
- creation of a meta-universe.
Obviously, Visa has global plans to interact with the crypto world, and supporting crypto transactions and cooperating with the largest exchanges is just the beginning. Thus, in early October, Visa announced a plan to launch cryptocurrency cards in 40 countries in partnership with the FTX crypto exchange. It is expected that residents of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries in the Americas will be the first to receive FTX cards, followed by Europe by the end of 2022, and Asia later.
Also, a few days ago it became known that Blockchain.com will issue a debit card for payments in cryptocurrencies in partnership with Visa. The new financial product will first be available to residents of the United States, followed by Blockchain.com customers from other countries. The card does not require any taxes or fees to order, and there are no service or transaction fees. Instead, users will receive 1% cashback in cryptocurrency for any purchases.
