Vitalik Buterin gave an interview about AI and the future of Ethereum

In a recent interview with the Bankless Shows YouTube project, Ethereum co-founder Vitaly Buterin shared his vision of the future of certain technologies.

In most of his interviews, Buterin is quite optimistic about the bright future of technology, not worrying about the growing tension at the geopolitical level and the possible risks associated with it. However, when it comes to the future of artificial intelligence, Buterin changed the tone of the conversation.

He believes that the danger does exist, and therefore, everything must be done to prevent humanity from becoming a hostage to its own technologies. At the same time, Buterin believes that we shouldn’t give up on the possibility of unlocking our potential with the help of AI. According to Vitalik, the Ethereum blockchain can be used to create social networks that do not depend on the will of politicians, have no censorship authority, cannot be closed in the usual sense, and are «universal.» At the same time, Buterin believes that the initiative should come from enthusiasts, and the blockchain development team will provide all possible support — only in this case can the project gain wide support from the masses.
