El Salvador authorities have increased bitcoin reserves

10:00 am, July 1, 2022

El Salvador has replenished its cryptocurrency reserves by purchasing 80 BTC. This was announced by El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele on Twitter.

Nayib Bukele, who is a well-known supporter of bitcoin, once again emphasized that the world’s future depends on virtual assets. Bukele also thanked cryptocurrency exchanges that sell bitcoin relatively cheaply — 80 BTC were purchased for $ 19,000.

It is known that the President of El Salvador is not worried about the fall in the value of cryptocurrencies and believes that investments in bitcoin will help the country’s financial system in the future. This is why the government is constantly buying virtual assets, given the tweets that Buchele posted earlier, El Salvador has purchased at least 2381 BTC. Thus, in early May, when the bitcoin rate had already fallen to $ 30,744 per coin, Nayib Bukele bought 500 BTC.

Earlier, there were also reports of problems with El Salvador’s state-owned cryptocurrency wallet Chivo, from which it was impossible to withdraw funds. However, according to El Salvador’s Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya, no problems have been reported in the economic sector so far. However, the floating loss from investments in BTC at the beginning of last week amounted to about $ 40 million.
