Bitcoin owners accused of disrespecting the cryptocurrency community
Dan Held, the former head of marketing at Kraken, a cryptocurrency exchange, has criticized bitcoin followers for their excessive disdain for other cryptocurrencies. The cryptocurrency community has traditionally considered Held to be a bitcoin advocate. However, the analyst has recently stated that he can no longer be called a maximalist who considers BTC to be the only digital asset worth investing in.
Held believes that the behavior of cryptocurrency enthusiasts towards bitcoin contradicts his original philosophy: the owners of the flagship cryptocurrency are becoming more conservative, criticizing people for choosing other digital assets for investment. The expert is confident that a softer approach to promoting bitcoin will be more productive.
According to Held, he is tolerant of other cryptocurrencies and is closely following Ethereum’s transition to Proof-of-Stake (PoS). He recently stated that the network’s transition to the new algorithm will increase the pressure of environmental activists on bitcoin. However, Held believes that it is much more effective to emphasize the advantages of bitcoin rather than to prove that other digital assets are bad.
«We shouldn’t demonize people for having other cryptocurrencies. Most bitcoin maximalists behave not like investors but like religious fanatics, demonstrating intolerance towards people who do not want to invest in BTC alone. It iswrong to impose your opinion on which cryptocurrency is better to invest in or try to dissuade people from investing in altcoins, even if bitcoin is really the best means of saving,» the analyst said.
