Warner Brothers to issue NFT tokens dedicated to The Lord of the Rings

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment is teaming up with blockchain company Eluvio to issue a collection of non-fungible tokens dedicated to the cult trilogy based on Tolkien’s novels. The project is called Web3 Movie Experience. If it proves to be successful, the studio will decide whether to continue moving towards the Web3 industry and release more digital projects, including TV series and games.

The first NFT collection, The Fellowship of the Ring, will be available on WB’s own Movieverse platform. It is reported that fans of certain franchises will be able to buy, sell, and exchange NFTs for their favorite movies and games. WB and Eluvio will issue 999 copies of the Epic Edition tokens at $ 100 each and 10,000 copies of the Mystery Edition tokens at $ 30 each. Both versions will allow buyers to watch an extended version of the movie in 4K format, as well as provide access to more than eight hours of footage about the filming of the movie, hundreds of images from the Lord of the Rings universe and collectibles. Users who purchase the NFT will have access to an interactive interface on the Warner Brothers platform, which will allow them to browse all the materials available on the subject.
